Museum Island

Berlin's museum island has several very interesting museums, especially the archaeological museums (Pergamonmuseum and Neues Museum).

The Pergamon Museum for instance shows impressive buildings reconstructed from ruines, such as the Pergamon Altar, the Ishtar Gate of Babylon and the Market Gate of Miletus.

A sudden change of plans (I was supposed to go and visit Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia) forced me to find another holiday location.

So I decided to visit Berlin instead, as I had never visited this city!
